As the day draws to an end while being serenaded by the beautiful calls of Natal Francolin, I watch a majestic sunset unfolding over the African Bush, I hear the gentle calls of a colony of lesser Bush Baby’s which have just woken from their siesta.
As evening begins I hear the cry of a Black Backed Jackal as he prepares for his evenings adventure, followed by the powerful calls of a pride of Lion in the distance. I am Awe struck How rare is it to find such an amazing property nestled deeply in the African bushveld yet so conveniently situated near town.
How wonderful it is to have such beauty all around with natural crystal-clear springs and such abundant water. I am so privileged to hear the Fiery Necked Night Jars Calling and then enjoying the eerie sound of an owl hooting while taking in the breath-taking views of the sparkling stars shining like diamonds against the velvet of the night.
As I gaze deeply into the myriad of colours emitted by the blazing fire I cannot help to think how privileged I am to share in this amazing piece of creation as my thoughts go back in time to how the Conglomerate Rocks were formed and the massive rock structures Packed on each other resembling Giant birds sitting on eggs or a giant man timelessly watching over his dominium!
